Mercedes Mone Hits 500 Days As AEW TBS Champion

Mercedes Mone has now held the AEW TBS Title for 500 days, having first won the belt at 2024’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. She is now just eight days away from matching Jade Cargil’s record reign of 508 days, and if she makes it to October 17 with the title, she will officially be the longest reigning TBS Champion ever, which looks likely to happen as the next AEW PPV isn’t until October 18, and Mone currently isn’t scheduled to defend her title at that show.

The Hardy Boyz Capture WWE NXT Tag Team Championship

Matt and Jeff Hardy have captured the NXT Tag Team Titles as they competed in a title vs. title match last night on NXT, putting their TNA World Tag Team Championship on the line against DarkState’s Osiris Griffin and Dion Lennox. The Hardys have a combined age of 99, whereas the team they beat have a combined age of 54, but that didn’t stop them from becoming double champions and capturing their ninth tag team title in WWE.

WWE Star Signs New Multi-Year Contract

It has been reported that Xavier Woods has signed a multi-year contract extension with WWE, as his previous deal was supposedly very close to expiring at the end of September. It’s unknown how long his contract extension is for, but he, Big E, and Kofi Kingston all signed a five-year deal with WWE in December of 2019, so it would seem likely that he may have signed for another five years.

AEW WrestleDream adds three new matches

Last night’s special AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday saw three new bouts being confirmed for the upcoming WrestleDream PPV on October 18, as Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita defeated Bandido and Brody King to earn themselves a shot at Brodido’s World Tag Team Titles at the pay-per-view. The reunited team of Jack Perry and Luchasaurus were confirmed to be taking on The Young Bucks on October 18, and also announced for the show is Kyle Fletcher defending his TNT Title against Mark Briscoe.
