I’m back from holiday and back for more Morning Daily News! I don’t think I will have missed much in the happenings of the world in just a week, let me take a look at what’s gone on since I’ve been away…oh…I see…well, some things did happen, didn’t they? Swiftly moving on, let’s take a look at what’s happened in the world of wrestling recently.
Eric Bischoff: WrestleMania In Saudi Arabia Is “A Little Disappointing For Me”
Eric Bischoff has spoken about the recent announcement that WrestleMania 43 will be taking place in Saudi Arabia and said that he finds the decision to be “disappointing”, as he thinks it hurts the North American fanbase, as it could, in the future, increase the cost of shows, which will lead to families being unable to attend shows.
Andrade Released By WWE For “Disciplinary Issues”
Dave Meltzer has reported that Andrade was released by WWE for “disciplinary issues” that are currently unknown. Meltzer said that the issue took place at a TV taping a few weeks ago, and while exactly what happened is not known, it was severe enough to warrant his release from the company.
Claudio Castagnoli’s AEW Status Confirmed After Mysterious Absence
After Claudio Castagnoli was absent from AEW’s Grand Slam Mexico, rumours swirled that the Swiss star could have picked up an injury or that his AEW contract may have expired. However, at least one of those rumours has been debunked as sources have confirmed that Castagnoli has a significant amount of time left on his AEW contract and that Tony Khan is committed to keeping him with the promotion for the long haul.
AEW’s Jim Ross Comments On Indie Wrestling Incident Involving Raja Jackson
Good ol’JR has weighed in on the ongoing Raja Jackson/Syko Stu incident, where last month, MMA fighter Jackson assaulted Stu during a Knokx Pro Wrestling event. Jim Ross condemned Jackson’s actions, stating that there is “no place in the business for that kind of s**t.” Ross defended Raja’s father, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rampage Jackson, for defending his son, as he believes that is his duty as a father.
