Morning Daily News Update
By Conor Renshaw on 3 September 2025
Good morning, everyone!
It’s Morning Daily News time! And it’s a miserable early Autumn day here in the UK, but I’m reluctant to get the jumpers out of the cupboard because last time I did that, the sun decided to turn itself up to max deadly heat ray mode for a few days! Anyway, let’s take a look at what’s new on the blog since yesterday. Just the two new pieces yesterday, as we got Garth Holmberg’s WWE Clash in Paris review, and Rock Star Gary posted a new WCCW review from April 16, 1988.
WWE tag team makes surprise NXT appearance
DIY’s Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano made a surprise appearance on last night’s episode of NXT and confronted TNA World Champion Trick Williams after Williams declared himself the greatest NXT star of all time. DIY took exception to Williams’ claim as they felt they had much more impressive accolades to their NXT resumes to back them up, with both Gargano and Ciampa having held the NXT Championship and the Tag Team Championship, and Gargano having held the North American title too. The segment ended with DIY laying out Williams with their finisher, and later, Williams set up a tag team match next week where he and a partner yet to be confirmed will face DIY.
AJ Lee To Return To The Ring At WWE Wrestlepalooza
AJ Lee could be returning to the ring at WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer posted on Twitter yesterday, stating that AJ Lee and CM Punk will face Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins in a mixed tag match at the pay-per-view in just over two weeks. Speculation has been mounting, since Lynch got involved in the main event of Clash in Paris, to low blow Punk to allow Rollins to retain the title, about a possible Lee return being in the works.
Nick Hogan Suing Bubba The Love Sponge Over Planned Hulk Doc
Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan, has filed a lawsuit against Hulk’s former friend, Bubba the Love Sponge, over a documentary that was made about Hulk’s sex tape. The documentary is reportedly titled “Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story Of The Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal”, which Bubba plans to release later this month. The lawsuit alleges that the documentary unlawfully uses images and clips from the sex tape, and that Bubba has been using Hulk’s trademarks without authorisation in the marketing of the documentary.
Eric Bischoff: Real American Freestyle is ‘the most fun thing I’ve ever done’
Eric Bischoff has spoken about the first show of his Real American Freestyle Wrestling and that being involved in the promotion is “the most fun thing I’ve ever done.” Bischoff is the Chief Media Officer for Real American Freestyle Wrestling, and the company’s first show took place on August 30 at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio and saw 4,500 fans in attendance for the show that was also billed as a tribute show to the late Hulk Hogan, who died on July 24.
