NXT Review – 07.15.25

NXT is LIVE from the Performance Center in Orlando, FL. Your announcers are Vic Joseph, Corey Graves, and Booker T on match calls, Mike Rome on ring announcements, and Kelly Kincaid on backstage interviews.

After a highlights package from the GAB and Evolution, we’re joined by Fatal Influence. NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne has a scratchy voice from what she describes as a Jordynne Grace elbow during their title match at Evolution. Jayne says things didn’t go their way at the Bash because certain members of Fatal dropped the ball as she glances at both Jazmyn Nyx and Fallon Henley. They got it together at Evolution and Jayne once again shocked all of us, says Jayne. Jayne will be at Slammiversary this coming Sunday for the title vs title match and while she thinks TNA Women’s Champion Masha Slamovich is great but she’s “no nonsense, no brains” and Jayne is walking out of New York with both titles.

Here’s TNA Women’s Champion Masha Slamovich to interrupt. Slamovich says the only reason Jayne is still NXT champ is because of Blake Monroe turning on Jordynne Grace during the title match at Evolution. Slamovich said it took four people to beat Grace, but she’ll beat Jayne to become the first woman to hold both titles. Jayne says Slamovich will never touch her title and she’ll be the one to…and here’s NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca and Zaria to interrupt. Ruca points out that she’s also the current WWE Women’s Speed Champion as well so she is actually the only woman holding two belts currently. Zaria says Ruca was the MVP of the weekend by performing in three matches. Nyx says unlike ZaRuca, when they have a problem they say it out loud and Jayne points out that when it’s ZaRuca, it’s “by accident”.

A brawl between all six breaks out and it ends with all of Fatal on the floor while Zaria, Slamovich and Ruca stand tall. I’m suspecting a six woman tag for later.

Next up is a video package on the D’Angelo family. The first one is “The Birth of the Don” and goes over the early days of the Tony D’Angelo character from NXT 2.0.

Mike Santana makes his entrance as we go to to commercials.

Back live and Joseph confirms that there will be a six woman tag with Fatal Influence vs Slamovich and ZaRuca, as predicted.

Mike Santana, Joe Hendry and TNA Men’s World Champion Trick Williams vs Darkstate (Saquon Shugars, Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin)

Cutler James is seconding the Darkstate crew. Hendry and Santana put Trick through a table at the Bash during the contract signing before getting wrecked by Darkstate as Trick looked on. Ava made this match with the implication being that she thinks Darkstate are actually working with Trick and this is the way to prove they aren’t, as Trick claims.

Santana hits the Darkstate crew with a tope con hilo before the bell even rings. Hendry goes out and starts throwing bombs as well. Shugars and Santana square off as the bell finally sounds. Santana works Shugars over in the corner and then hits a standing senton. Trick tags in and slams Shugars twice, and then blasts Shugars with chops. Griffin tags in as Trick hits Shugars with a leg lariat. Trick didn’t see the tag, and as he mocks Hendry who’s telling Trick to turn around, Griffin wrecks Trick with a lariat. We go to commercials.

Back live and Lennox has Santana from behind, but Santana is hurling back elbows at him. Lennox shoves Santana into the Darkstate corner but he fights his way out as Lennox holds on for dear life. Santana gets to his feet but Lennox blasts him in the back. Griffin tags in and after a scrum, Santana wipes out Griffin and Lennox with a double cutter. Shugars charges in and tries to prevent Santana from making a tag, but he can’t do it and Santana tags in Hendry. Hendry wipes out Lennox and Shugars with lariats, but Griffin shrugs off Hendry’s punch so Hendry calmly DDT’s him. Lennox charges so Hendry hoists him up for a fall-away slam. Shugars leaps into Hendry’s arms in a cross-body attempt, so Hendry hits him with a fall-away slam as well. Shugars tries again, so Hendry slams him and covers for two as Lennox and Griffin break it up.

A Pier Six erupts and Griffin dumps Trick to the floor. Hendry and Santana are left in the ring as everyone else ends up on the floor as well. Trick comes in to berate the both of them so Santana pops Trick in the mouth. Santana and Hendry hit simultaneous over-the-top-rope dives on the entire Darkstate crew. Here’s Eddie Edwards, JDC, and Brian Myers of The System to brawl with Darkstate. The bell sounds for the DQ.

I really don’t know what to make of Darkstate because all of them looked wildly average in this match. Now, in real terms, they are young and unestablished, so they probably should NOT be able to hang with veterans like Hendry and Santana. That’s basically what the story was here until the System dudes showed up. What was shown was mostly the veterans dominating and even the heat sequence on Santana wasn’t all that long. This was mostly an angle disguised as a match. 2*

No Winners – Match thrown out after interference from The System

EARLIER TODAY in the women’s locker room, Arianna Grace suggests she should have been in the battle royal at Evolution. Karmen Petrovic agrees and thinks she should have been in as well. In walks Evolve Women’s Champion Kali Armstrong. Armstrong scoffs at the two of them and thinks since she’s Evolve champ, she should have been in the battle royal. Petrovic says she knows Armstrong is feeling herself after successfully defending against Nattie but since she’s running her mouth Petrovic would be glad to talk to Ava and take her title tonight. Armstrong says that’s cool with her because she doesn’t back down from anyone.

Kali Armstrong makes her entrance. Jordynne Grace arrives as Joseph says she looks pissed. We go to commercials.

Part Two of the D’Angelo Family saga is “Enter the Underboss” and I’m wondering if we’ll see the late, lamented Two Dimes. Sadly, we don’t, but we do get a thorough going-over of the relationship between Tony D and Stacks.

Evolve Women’s Championship: Kali Armstrong (C) vs Karmen Petrovic

They lock up to start and Armstrong whips Petrovic down. Petrovic fires up and hits Armstrong with a kick. Petrovic hits more kicks and then catches Armstrong with a back kick as she charged in. Armstrong comes back with a left and a right (she throws impressive looking punches for someone so green). Petrovic runs the ropes and Armstrong catches her with a powerslam. Armstrong runs the ropes and here’s Jordynne Grace to trip up Armstrong and yank her out of the ring. Grace hits a backfist on Armstrong, leaps into the ring to hit her rolling neckbreaker on Petrovic, and demands a mic.

Grace says she’s not leaving the ring until Blake Monroe explains why she did what she did at Evolution. Here’s Evolve GM Stevie Turner and Robert Stone to try to calm things. A video package starts claiming “Blake Monroe hates everything about Jordynne Grace”. Monroe, from her bath, invites Grace to sit front row next week in Houston for Monroe’s singles debut. Grace loses it and clotheslines Turner, and then hits a spinebuster on Stone. Grace screams and heads towards the back. Here’s NXT GM Ava with Security to further de-escalate.

Are we going to have a match with an actual finish tonight? Really not enjoying this so far. I’m not rating this as again, it’s angle disguised as a match. I feel sorry for Petrovic and Armstrong, maybe they’ll hook it up again at some point. There was a fan with a hand-drawn Karmen Petrovic sign and I bet he was very disappointed in you, Shawn. Sleep on that tonight, pal.

Whoever the people are on Team Undertaker from LFG are chatting (I’m sorry, I watch so much wrestling that I am not making time for LFG so I don’t know any of them). Trick Williams strolls in and appears to be grumpy. He tells them that when he says move, they should stop talking and get out of the way. Trick says if anyone’s feeling froggy they can go. The biggest guy steps up but Trick leaves saying he doesn’t know what Undertaker sees in any of them. We go to commercials.

In the GM office, Ava wants a chat with Jasper Troy. She tells Troy that he made the wrong choice in attacking Ricky Saints during the Men’s North American title match. Ava wants Troy to prove himself in the matches she makes for him, and Troy says Saints went into his space and that’s why he slammed him on the rolling case. Ava says they settle things in the ring so it will be Troy vs Saints in Houston next week. Booker is predictably excited by this development as we go back to the announce desk.

Part Three of the D’Angelo Family saga is “Rise And Fall of the Family”. This is essentially the D’Angelo promo that aired during the Bash where he went over bringing in Rizzo and Luca Crusifino and how everything went to hell over ego and mistrust. Not shown, however, was D’Angelo tossing the Heritage Cup into the water below the infamous bridge they always use.

Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo makes his entrance, and then Luca Crusifino does likewise. We go to commercials.

THE NXT SPOTLIGHT PRESENTED BY PROGRESSIVE is on Lash Legend’s performance in the battle royal at Evolution. She finished as the runner-up to the winner Stephanie Vaquer. Back live Kelly Kincaid is with Lash Legend to discuss. Kincaid calls Legend’s performance “dominant” and Legend runs through the names of the people she tossed. Kincaid asks what’s next and Legend says she’s going to greet the new double Women’s champ, whomever it is, in Houston next week. Here’s Jaida Parker to interrupt. Parker says the crowd was chanting for her at Evolution and she threw out Nattie (this isn’t the flex you think it is, Jaida), so if anyone is going to greet the new double champ next week, it’s her.

Family Business Triple Threat: Tony D’Angelo vs Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo vs LucaCrusifino

D’Angelo puts his hat on the ring post in a call-back to his debut and he has his back to Stacks and Crusifino. The bell sounds Stacks wants to fight so D’Angelo wallops him with a right. Crusifino grabs D’Angelo’s left arm, and Stacks grabs his right. D’Angelo fights out of it and nails Crusifino and Stacks with flying forearms. D’Angelo hits a spinebuster on Crusifino and goes to ground and pound. D’Angelo yanks Crusifino up but Crusifino powers out of it. D’Angelo ducks a clothesline attempt and Crusifino eats a boot from Stacks. D’Angelo charges in and wipes them both out. D’Angelo covers Crusifino for two as Stacks yanks him off.

D’Angelo boots Stacks down, and Stacks begs off before going to look for what presumably will be a crowbar. Apparently D’Angelo found it earlier expecting that move from Stacks. D’Angelo starts throwing bombs at Stacks and then drives shoulders into him in the corner. D’Angelo beals Stacks across the ring but Crusifino hits a POUNCE on D’Angelo sending him flying. Crusifino hits a double sit-down DDT on both Stacks and D’Angelo. Crusifino dumps D’Angelo to the floor and then hits a flying knee on a charging Stacks. D’Angelo yanks Stacks to the floor and Crusifino hits a baseball slide double kick on both of them.

Crusifino dumps Stacks back in the ring, but he’s grabbed from behind by D’Angelo as he tries to re-enter. Stacks hits a big boot on D’Angelo sending him back to the floor, and then Stacks nails Crusifino with a springboard punch sending him into D’Angelo on the floor. We go to picture-in-picture commercials.

During PIP Stacks whips D’Angelo into the ring apron and then runs Crusifino into the ring steps. D’Angelo fires up and whips Stacks into Crusifino who’s sitting with his back on the ring steps. D’Angelo pops Stacks back in the ring and covers for two. Stacks nails D’Angelo in the gut with a right but D’Angelo shakes it off and runs Stacks into the top turnbuckle a couple of times. D’Angelo puts Stacks in a sleeper but a recovered Crusifino hits a running senton on Stacks to break the whole thing up. Crusifino works D’Angelo over in the corner but Stacks yanks him off. Stacks pops Crusfino with a right and drapes him over the second rope before ascending. Stacks hits a double stomp on a prone Crusifino and covers for two as D’Angelo breaks it up. Stacks and D’Angelo square off and D’Angelo slips a Stacks knee-lift attempt and rolls him up for two. Stacks reverses that into a crossface so Crusifino comes over and puts Stacks in a rear choke. That all gets broken up as Stacks goes to work on Crusifino in the corner before charging over to put a boot to D’Angelo.

Back live with Stacks jamming his knee into D’Angelo’s head. Stacks nails a prone Crusifino with a rolling tackle in the corner, and then hits the same move on D’Angelo. Stacks covers D’Angelo for two. The announcers bicker over who’s to blame for all this and Graves points squarely at D’Angelo for not letting Stacks and Crusifino reach their full potential. Stacks works over Crusifino with gut shots but he’s yanked off by D’Angelo who blasts Stacks with kidney punches. Stacks slips a facebuster attempt and runs D’Angelo into Crusifino who tumbles to the floor. Stacks kisses D’Angelo on the head and tries to beal him over the top, but D’Angelo reverses and tosses Stacks over the top rope onto Crusifino. D’Angelo goes to the floor and destroys Crusifino with a big lariat as Stacks goes under the ring apron.

Stacks, as you may have guessed, has a second crowbar and he swings and misses at D’Angelo. D’Angelo ducks another swing and knocks the crowbar away, but Stacks recovers and runs D’Angelo shoulder-first into the ring steps. D’Angelo staggers back in the ring with Stacks pursuing to hit a running knee drop on D’Angelo, and that gets a LONG two. D’Angelo ends up on the apron and Stacks yanks his head in between the second and third ropes. Stacks starts pummeling D’Angelo and then tries for the double stomp, but D’Angelo slips it and Crusifino comes flying in to nail Stacks with a Euro uppercut. Stacks slips a second attempt, but as he gets away D’Angelo wallops Stacks with a clothesline from the apron. Everyone is locked up on the ropes and D’Angelo springs in and nails Stacks and Crusifino with a release German suplex. D’Angelo covers Crusifino for two.

D’Angelo sets Stacks up on the top turnbuckle and climbs, but Crusifino charges in to hit a Tower of Doom spot. Crusifino fires up in the corner and he nails Stacks again with the running Euro uppercut. D’Angelo slips an attempt at the move on him. D’Angelo fires up and hits running lariats on both Stacks and Crusifino, but Stacks manages to hit D’Angelo with a high boot on his next charge. They tussle and D’Angelo ends up powerbombing Stacks into the corner on the second turnbuckle. Crusifino fires up and hits a springboard double clothesline on D’Angelo and Stacks. Crusifino hits D’Angelo with a double knee drop and then hits a neckbreaker on Stacks for two. D’Angelo charges in and Stacks and Crusifino hit him with a Shatter Machine (HI DAX AND CASH) before Stacks whips Crusifino to the floor. Stacks covers D’Angelo for two.

Stacks wants the crowbar but he’s stopped by Crusifino. Crusifino grabs it and swings at Stacks, but he misses and Stacks runs him into the ring post. Stacks grabs the crowbar and misses a swing at Crusifino and as he turns D’Angelo spears him through a gimmicked part of the wall in front of the NXT Roost. Stacks comes flying out of the hole like he was launched from a cannon in a hysterical spot. D’Angelo comes out of the hole to a giant pop from the crowd. D’Angelo launches Crusifino onto the announcer table which immediately is destroyed. In the ring, D’Angelo hits Stacks with a spinebuster and covers for three.

Our first match with a finish comes an hour and fifteen minutes into the show. It was long and I know they were going for “epic” but it didn’t quite get there for me. All three worked hard and the finish was clean and made sense so I’m not going to knock it down too much. D’Angelo turning into a wrecking machine at the end was a good touch as it was really time for this whole thing to be over and done with. D’Angelo gets his revenge for Stand & Deliver and the Family is done. 3.5*

Winner – Tony D’Angelo (Spinebuster to Stacks)

Post-match sees D’Angelo stare back at his hat before leaving. The way Graves is talking makes it seem like maybe D’Angelo is going up to the main roster.

Highlights are shown from last week’s NQCC encounter where Charles Dempsey beat Tavion Heights as Wren Sinclair threw in the towel. Back live, Tavion Heights asks Wren Sinclair why she threw in the towel and she says she knows Heights is a badass but he can’t be a badass if he’s injured. Heights says it’s not about leaving the NQCC, it’s about getting his shot like Myles (Borne) did. Charles Dempsey enters. Dempsey offers to go again, but Wren says she’s got something for next week as she’s facing Blake Monroe next week in her home state of Texas. Dempsey says they’ll table things for now and support Sinclair. She tells them they can be in her corner if they want to.

Here’s a grumpy Josh Briggs apparently on the way to the ring as we go to commercials.

Highlights are shown of Josh Briggs interfering in the NXT Men’s Title match at GAB as Briggs has a microphone. Briggs says he watched the opportunity of a lifetime get squandered at the Bash. Briggs claims Inamura didn’t want to win as much as Briggs wanted him to win. Briggs is upset because Inamura has been here less than a year and got a title match on a PLE while he’s been here for four years putting on some of “the best matches in NXT history”. (Josh, um….let’s have a chat about that.) and hasn’t sniffed a title match. Briggs calls Inamura “too nice” and they’re in a cut-throat business. Here’s NXT Men’s Champion Oba Femi to interrupt.

Femi tells Briggs that the Bash was never supposed to be about him. Whether Briggs was there or not, the Ruler was always going to come out on top. Femi claims Briggs involvement ruined the match and people are questioning Femi’s win because of it. Briggs says he saw Femi “drowning in the deep end” and Inamura let him up for air. Briggs says Femi is about to break and nothing lasts forever. Briggs tells Femi that Inamura is a man of honor but he is not. Here’s Yoshiki Inamura to interrupt.

Inamura tells Briggs that he doesn’t speak for him and asks what he’s doing. (He walks past the poor announcers who are still sitting at the wreckage of their table.) Briggs says he’s doing what Inamura should have done at the Bash. Femi reiterates his statement from after the match on Saturday that Inamura deserves another shot but Briggs doesn’t deserve anything. Briggs says the only reason Femi would give Inamura a rematch is because he knows he won’t do what Briggs is willing to. Inamura tells Briggs to quiet down and that he’s his own man. He will do what it takes to win, and he’ll do it with honor says Inamura. Briggs proposes a triple threat for the title next week in Houston. Femi tells Briggs that pride will be his downfall and asks if this is what Briggs wants.

Briggs drops the mic and starts brawling with Femi. Briggs ducks a clothesline and Femi waffles Inamura instead. Briggs catches Inamura with a back elbow as he’s brawling with Femi. Briggs clotheslines Femi to the floor, and the camera misses Inamura pushing him off as the locker room empties with Security and the referees trying to prevent a livid Femi from getting back in the ring.

Briggs is not a great promo but this worked in setting up the match for next week. There’s clear conflict now between Inamura and Briggs and the triple threat stip is enough to at least make things interesting about potential shenanigans.

Here’s a pre-taped promo from NXT Men’s North American Champion Ethan Page. He talks about Canada’s Independence Day and then the 4th of July. Page then goes over beating Ricky Saints in the Falls Count Anywhere match at the Bash. Page is going to celebrate his victory next week in Houston.

Here’s Kelly Kincaid with Ricky Saints. Saints tells her a lesser man wouldn’t even be standing there and that he showed up and showed out on Saturday. Saints is now focused on Jasper Troy who’s uncontrollable rage has cost him before. Saints says it will cost him again in Houston.

The Undertaker has responded to Trick Williams on social media and says he’ll be in Houston and Trick, TNA Champion or not, better stay out of his yard. The announcers go over the current Houston card.

Masha Slamovich, Sol Ruca, and Zaria are together and here are The Culling to watch from behind. Tatum Paxley is apologetic for what happened at the Bash but Izzi Dame is not mad at her, she’s mad at “that snake Sol” for still having the title. Dame tells Paxley not to worry because they’ll always be friends and Paxley says she has an idea.

Fatal Influence vs TNA Women’s World Champion Masha Slamovich, NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca, and Zaria

Lexis King is in the audience with noise-cancelling headphones on for some reason. Henley starts with Zaria as the bell rings.

They lock up and Zaria powers Henley down. Henley fires up and stomps Zaria’s foot before nailing her with a right. Henley comes off the ropes but Zaria shrugs her off and knocks Henley to the mat with her shoulder. Ruca tags in and drops a double fist on Henley’s arm as Zaria holds her. Ruca works Henley’s arm and hits a sit-down drop on Henley’s elbow. Slamovich tags in and the crowd starts doing the wave. Slamovich ragdolls Henley around and then kicks her square in the back and then in the front. Slamovich covers for one.

Henley gains control and runs Slamovich into the Fatal corner before tagging in Nyx. Henley holds Slamovich so Nyx can kick her in the stomach. Nyx hits a springboard roundhouse kick and covers Slamovich for two. Slamovich fires up and drapes Nyx over the second rope before springing up and over in the corner. Slamovich runs the apron and kicks Nyx in the head before walloping her with a clothesline. Nyx tags in Jayne who questions why she would do that. Slamovich tells Jayne to bring it as Jayne reluctantly enters. Slamovich catches a Jayne kick attempt and rolls her up for one, before Slamovich rolls her around and covers for a two count.

Jayne hits an armdrag on Slamovich. Slamovich ducks a clothesline but Jayne catches her with a rana and a big elbow that gets two. Jayne bullies Slamovich and yells that Slamovich isn’t on her level. Slamovich immediately fires up and nails Jayne with a roundhouse kick that sends Jayne into the babyface corner. Zaria tags in as Slamovich splashes Jayne in the corner. Zaria immediately tags in Ruca and they hit a double team beal before dropping a double locked-hands elbow (HI TURBO AND TRUTH). Slamovich kicks Jayne in the chest on her way out, and Ruca covers for two. Ruca grabs a wristlock as Ava is seeing why Lexis King is in the audience.

Ruca has Jayne up and is spinning her like a top, so when Henley interferes Jayne accidently boots her down. Ruca plants Jayne face-first and goes for the surfboard, as apparently Ava has convinced King to go to the back? Who can tell and who cares, really? Nyx charges in so Ruca scoops her up and slams her directly on Jayne. Ruca covers for one. Jayne charges and eats an elbow, but as Ruca is along the ropes Nyx grabs her from behind and drops her throat-first on the top rope. Jayne hits a superkick on Ruca that sends her to the floor as Henley tags in. Henley just has to hit her swinging double kick around the ring post and Ruca hits the floor. Fatal talk shit to Ruca as we go to picture-in-picture commercials.

During PIP Henley shoves Ruca back into the ring and covers her for two. Henley hits three knee-lifts into Ruca’s head and covers for two. Ruca tries for a comeback but Henley runs her into the Fatal corner and tags in Nyx. Nyx puts the boots to Ruca and then jams her boot under Ruca’s jaw. Nyx hits a bridging suplex and that gets two. Nyx tries it again and again gets two, so she whips around and puts Ruca in a bridging submission. Ruca won’t tap, and she escapes, but Nyx trips her down to prevent a tag. Nyx slams Ruca into the canvas a couple of times and then tags in Jayne. Jayne works Ruca over in the corner. As Ruca crawls away Jayne puts her in a reverse chinlock and yanks back.

Back live with Jayne crawling Ruca’s back, but Ruca hits a sit-down bomb to stop Jayne’s momentum. Jayne tags in Nyx as Ruca finally gets to tag in Zaria. Zaria runs Nyx over with clotheslines and boots a charging Henley down. Zaria hits Nyx with a Saito suplex and then hits Henley with a release German. Zaria hoists up Nyx, but Henley yanks Nyx down and Jayne tags back in. Zaria charges in and Jayne blasts her with a superkick as Henley and Nyx wipe out Ruca and Slamovich. Nyx pops Zaria with a dropkick and Jayne comes flying out of the corner with a swinging neckbreaker and that gets two.

Jayne whips Zaria into the Fatal corner and hits an elbow before tagging in Henley. Henley hits her own flying elbow and tags in Nyx. Nyx puts the boots to Zaria and tags in Jayne. Zaria fights all of them off and then comes off the second rope with a double clothesline to Jayne and Nyx. Slamovich tags in and wallops Jayne with a couple of clotheslines and a back thrust kick. Nyx charges in and eats a high boot before Slamovich cracks Jayne with a running high knee. Slamovich hits a running tackle on Jayne for two.

Slamovich yanks Jayne up for something, but Jayne gets a sneaky roll-up for two. Jayne comes back with a right hand and short-arm clothesline and that gets two. Nyx tags in and she tags Henley as they drag Slamovich to her feet. They hit a double-team facebuster and a rolling facebuster on Slamovich as Jayne tags in. Jayne hits a huge running knee on Slamovich that gets two as Zaria breaks it up. Henley charges in and thunderously slaps Zaria in the chest. Ruca comes flying in to hit Henley with a sit-out double boot to the back. Nyx flies in to hit a Pele kick on Ruca before being predictably destroyed by a Zaria spear.

Here are Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame at ringside. Ruca comes flying off the ring steps and wipes out Paxley with a rolling tackle. Zaria hits a rolling tackle on Dame from the apron as she and Ruca jaw with Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. Here are the NXT Tag Team Champions Hank and Tank to tangle with Spears and Vance. Zaria and Ruca battle with Paxley and Dame and everyone brawls to the back. Slamovich, now on her own, wipes out Henley before nailing Jayne with a roundhouse. Slamovich yanks up Jayne and hits her with the Snow Plow brainbuster and that gets three.

I’m wildly annoyed at all the interference tonight but at least this match had a clean finish. I don’t think it bodes well for Masha at Slammiversary but that’s neither here nor there at the moment. Everyone worked hard, there was good chemistry, and it followed a good formula with the long heat sequence on Ruca. I was enjoying it right up until the Culling showed up. 3*

Post-match sees Slamovich hold up both her TNA title and Jayne’s NXT title before handing the title to Jayne and berating her. Slamovich celebrates as Fatal looks on. The announcers run down next week’s Houston card again. The credits roll as Slamovich continues to eye up Jayne.

Gang, this was their worst show in a while and coming off a PLE, I’m disappointed. Only two matches with finishes, and even though both of those matches were good, this week was all about setting up Slammiversary and next week’s Houston show. Granted, they are stacking the Houston show so I get it but tonight….woof. Did not like. The juxtaposition around the timing of the Bash and Slammiversary is clearly not ideal for booking. Things I liked: The Family three-way and the Femi-Briggs-Inamura interaction. The women’s tag main event was fine and I was enjoying it until The Culling interference. I’m just going to sigh and move on to next week. For the record, I think Jacy is going to be a double champ when this show comes back next week, but I don’t have a thought about the Trick-Santana-Hendry thing yet. I hope that gets a little more crystalized on Thursday night. Go watch Impact, y’all. It’s fun watch and you’ll see a lot of familiar faces.
