Megapowers snme

Scott-

I feel like people forget how huge that whole Savage/Honky/Megapowers snme episode is…

-Savage mained as a face challenger, face world champ, heel champ then heel challenger for almost two years.

-Once Hogan got past Dibiase and Andre it gave him a year plus of story, minus Bossman run

-Even Honky got about 5 months of main events including multiple MSG, Boston and Philly mains in defenses and 6 man tags

Hogan-Orndorff was huge for like 5 months…Hogan-Andre was close but was three encounters in 87 and about 8 months in 88. Bigger individual shots but not as long lasting.

Minus the horseman run from 85-87 I cant think of any 80s story that came close to the length of benefit than thr megapowers had.


Megapowers was overall one of the biggest drawing programs of all time and there’s an argument to be made that it represented a peak for the promotion and Hogan specifically that couldn’t be matched again.
