Evening Daily News Update – May 29th, 2025

FROM THE PAGES OF THE BOD MAGAZINE, HERE’S UPDATE!
… what do you mean people don’t buy Magazines anymore?
Good Evening, Doomhounds. It’s Thursday and you know what that means. Tonight we have TNA Impact for our main course of professional wrestling, or if you’re subscribed to Honor Club, you can check out the latest episode of ROH when it drops at pm ET.
NXT running at the ECW Arena… Oh Boy…
If it wasn’t enough for people to get worked up about WWE running an NXT Event on the same day as an AEW PPV, now they’re running the old ECW Arena the week before AEW is scheduled to host several weeks worth of shows.
Friday Night Smackdown, Extended Cut
The news making rounds is that Smackdown will remain three-hours for the foreseeable future. It’s hard enough to stay invested in a 2-hour weekly block of TV. THREE Hours is just too much, especially with all the padding. At least we’re not getting 4-hour blocks… What’s that? SONOFABI—-
YouTube Showcase: 2003 NWA-TNA Marathon
Flashback to when we were looking for alternatives to the Triple H Reign of Terror on Raw and Vince McMahon’s tour de force on Smackdown with Vince Russo’s Sports Entertainment Xtreme and Double J’s own reign of terror!
WE’RE TALKIN’ SPORTS…
One half of the NBA Finals is set as the Oklahoma City Thunder squashed Minnesota in 5 games. If you’re in a win-or-go-home game, you can’t finish the 1st quarter with NINE POINTS as a team. Unless there’s a case of extreme front office malpractice, expect to see the Thunder as contenders in the Western Conference for a long time. the Indiana Pacers will look to stamp their ticket to the Finals, up 3 games to 1 against the beloved New York Knicks.
The Colorado Rockies lost again yesterday, pushing their record to 9-47. That sets them on pace for a 27-135 finish. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but it’s not like they’re slumming with a bottom of the league payroll. That’s what Oakland and the Florida teams are for!
AUTHOR APPRECIATION…
Megabucks brings us a deep dive into the animated series Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling, which was purged from the WWE Network in 2015 and never brought back due to mysterious circumstances (cough:RACISTPOSBASTARD:cough), Sonic has last night’s episode of WWE Evolve, and Phredric is catching up with All Japan’s Champion Carnival. With all of Scott’s archived content being organized, it’s easy to miss some of these, so give them a look if any of them tickle your fancy. I will be back sometime in the near future with this week’s ROH recap.
As always, enjoy yourselves, keep it clean, and come out Dooming.
