Alternate Timeline Blackpool Combat Club

By Scott Keith on 27 May 2025

Since all the past Double or Nothings are on Max, i've been seeing for the first time in full, the Stadium Stampedes & Anarchy in the Arenas. I'm up to 2022 now. A thought crossed my mind.

Danielson & Mox (with Regal), were over like rover. Them joining forces with Kingston & Crew to feud with the JAS was just a great fit and to watch deserving Heels get their heads kicked in. I'm not sure what TKs “Long Term storytelling” plan was for the BCC, if there was one to begin with, but I was having a blast with them, and eventually Yuta, & Claudio.

In that time, CM Punk got injured, so they go to Mox. Then Brawl Out happened, they go back to Mox. I totally get that him being a reliable transition champ was the best way to go. I think even back then I would have hated if they went with Jericho instead. But i gotta think, this may have derailed some sort of epic BCC story or two. Once the initial stable was formed, they were all over the place with matches and feuds. What if they kept Mox out of the world title pictures when he was needed? Would another talent have been able to step in? Would BCC climbed into the AEW Stable echelons, so when Regal left, it didn't feel like the air completely left our face-kicking balloon?

Regal leaving was a definite kick in the nuts to the whole storyline. He was the rug that really tied the whole room together.
