Evening Daily News Update – May 26th, 2025
By Garth Holmberg on 26 May 2025
FROM THE PAGES OF THE BOD MAGAZINE, HERE’S UPDATE!
Good evening, Doomers. It’s Monday, and you know what that means! Monday Night Raw is on tap, but if you’re not feeling it, there was A LOT of wrestling this weekend, with AEW Double or Nothing and NXT Battleground taking center stage (both getting glowing reviews). Oh, and Saturday Night’s Main Event, which was fine, but not something you should go out of your way to watch. Some stuff was OK, some wasn’t. If you’ve read anything about the show, you know what will fall where.
The Road to Money in the Bank Continues
We’ve got two Men’s Qualifying Triple Threat Matches for MITB, a Triple Threat for the Tag Team Championship, and Rusev is looking to redeem some cool points by squashing the hell out of Tozawa. WWE relies too hard on these triple threat matches in tournaments, but I guess it’s a good way to get some unpredictability. They just run too many of them.
WWE Vault Presents Good Lucha Things
Why is the WWE Vault uploading an hour of WCW content? Shouldn’t that be on WCW Vault? Anyway, it’s an hour of lucha tag team wrestling, and if I can find time to waste watching videos on forgotten giants and giant tag teams, I can find an hour to put this on, at least as background noise.
We’re Talkin’ SPORTS…
My New York Knicks came back from the dead and stole Game 3 from the Indiana Pacers, who CHOKED away a 20-pt lead. The Knicks are the first team in NBA Playoff HISTORY to come back from 20-pt deficits and win on three different occasions in one postseason run. Game 4 between Oklahoma City and Minnesota is tonight on ESPN and ESPN related stations, with Minnesota looking to build momentum from the Game 3 a$$-whooping they laid on the Thunder. In NHL news, the Florida Panthers look to finish off the pathetic Carolina Hurricanes. Just avoiding the sweep might be considered something to celebrate if you’re a Hurricanes fan.
AUTHOR APPRECIATION…
Niz has us covered with a recap of NXT Battleground, Jabroniville has Joshi Spotlight with AJW Stroke ‘00, LScisco with the latest in What The World Was Watching with the January 22nd, 1994 episode of Monday Night Raw, and Alex brings us 5-Star Book Reviews with Part IV on Mitsuharu Misawa. I know it’s a holiday, but that’s light content compared to last Monday when this feature turned into a bible page.
You know the rules. Keep it clean, have a good time, and come out dooming.
