These Saturday Night Main events are hitting me right in the feels.
2. questions. If you please sir.
1. Terry Funk was only in WWF from 85-86. Would you say he was one of the last guy to come in and “pop a territory “ for the wwf so to speak?
Came in. Pushed hard. Did what he needed to do. And was gone.
Makes you wonder if Brody could have done the same thing.
2. Savage-Steamboat is my favorite match of all time. Not just for the overall quality but just for the nostalgia of it. I was six years old at the time and I thought it was amazing.
Looking back though, and I mean this in the smallest of nickpicks. It was labeled as a blood feud however, the match was a technical masterpiece. Do you think there should’ve been a little bit more of raw in emotion there? Not necessarily Tully/Magnum. But more of a brawl of that nature.
It’s perfection- I get it. But odd it goes from. Bell on the throat to a mat classic right?

I think Brody could have made good money for Brody but I don’t think he would have mattered for the promotion.

Savage and Steamboat had crazy brawls all over the country at house shows and Steamer kept getting DQd or having his brawling backfire on him and blowing his shot. That was actually the storyline of the big match, that he had one last shot at the title and had to finally remember what he was good at, by out wrestling Savage instead of trying to get revenge. That’s why it was such a great story.
