Hi Scott

Question I've meant to send in for a while. Do you think that Undertaker might have been a decent choice to carry the can as champion in '95. In this scenario Bret either beats Backlund at Survivor's or regains the belt at or before the rumble, then Bret-Taker takes place at Mania with Taker going over clean.

I don't know whether the match would have any good (their '96 rumble match doesn't inspire much confidence, but maybe a shorter match would have worked OK), but Taker ticked the same box as Diesel in terms of size and was a solidly over guy who could be trusted not to leave for WCW.

You can still run Michaels-Diesel as a straight grudge match with Diesel going over strong, then build to a Diesel-Taker main event at Summerslam.

What do you think?
In retrospect I think you could have pulled it off, but really the strategy was that Undertaker was a guy who could headline B shows without the title as a top babyface, so it was better to have two top draws instead of just one.
