New Cena vs Orton

Was it just the right place, wrong time that made Cena vs Orton a series of feuds that grew tiresome? Some top people leaving for different reasons (Lesnar, Batista, Edge), a lack of major competition for talent and Vince becoming lazy as fuck?
With AEW now and the business being different, are we past this type of “Fuck are they feuding for months AGAIN?” I suppose we have Owens and Zayn, but maybe because it's not a multi ppv feud over the strap, it seems less egregious.
Yeah I think it's neat that they're using the heel turn to make some fresh matchups out of matches that aren't technically fresh. That's how it's supposed to be!
