Is good business bad for WM?
By Scott Keith on 29 March 2025
This may very well be me overthinking things, but it seems that three of the weakest WrestleManias – WM2, WMXV, and WM2000 – coincided with a hot period in pro wrestling.
It's feeling like this year's has that same messy, “meh” quality to it.
Do you think there's something to the idea that when the business is otherwise booming, WM suffers, at least creatively?
If so, why do you and the others think that is?
My suspicion is that there's soooo much programming that needs to be considered, that WM suffers. Also, it may simply be a factor of burn out or a teflon feeling of invulnerability.
Fingers crossed this year is more like WM31, and we're all just bellyaching over what turns out to be a low-key classic.
Hopefully. I haven’t been paying huge amounts of attention one way or another because I’m mostly in it for the Rock and he’s apparently been disappeared from the company again.
