Dusty finishes – a retrospective
By Scott Keith on 19 December 2024
Scott,
If there was one 'Dusty finish' in all of wrestling history (not limited to those booked by Dusty Rhodes) where you could change time and preserve the original decision (rather than the subsequent reversal), which would it be?
I always think keeping Jericho's victory over HHH in April 2000, even if only for a short reign, would have been interesting.
The Bash 88 Luger finish. I know it boosted business and BLAH BLAH BLAH but Crockett was dying anyway and that was the start of Luger's downward fall into choker territory. Give him the win there and Flair can regain it at Starrcade 88 and that gives Lex a nice run on top as a guy who can WIN BIG MATCHES and be World champion early in his career and I think would have changed the trajectory for him moving forward.
