Yokozuna’s run

The 30th anniversary of WMX clips come across my feed a lot this week, and the one that stook out was the finish of the Bret/Yoko match. Then i start going through the timeline of Yokos two title runs, and for someone so big and who Vince absolutely loved so much he went ahead and made him evil Japanese for the extra “heat”, All of his marquee matches were booked like he couldn't do it himself and/or dumb luck:

1. Yoko wins the Rumble after Macho man makes the mistake and “goes for a pin”
2. Casually pins Bret at WM9 after he get's salt in his eyes. Not even a legdrop in between
3. Hulk beats him right after
4. Beats Hulk after an unknown camera man has to blind the Hulkster for Yoko to win
5. Loses to Luger at SS by countout where everyone involved looks like a goof, even the faces hoisting Luger on their shoulders
6. Counted out at Survivor Series (mind you a multi-man match and necessary given the UT Feud coming up)
7. Needs the heel lockeroom to defeat the Undertaker at Rumble
8. WMX: Falls backwards and casually gets pinned by the guy who already lost earlier in the night, AND was selling a leg injury.
Did no one know how to book a giant samoan still?!?

Calling Yokozuna “underpushed” is certainly a hot take among hot takes.
