Mean Fans

Saw you mentioned something on Twitter about this so figured I bring it to the blog. This is regarding the discourse about fans being incredibly mean to Maxxine at a house show. If you pay your hard earned money you can boo who you want. But what's the point of being mean and yelling hurtful things? There is a difference between yelling at a heel they suck and yelling at a face they suck and telling them they are terrible in the ring. House shows main purpose is to get wrestlers reps. I am sure those same fans would be ok if we went to a new job they just started and just started hurling insults at them.
I agree Maxxine should be no where near live TV when it comes to wrestling in a ring, but she has killed it in every other aspect, whether it be as a valet, backstage segments, or doing media. She seems to be very well liked, respects the business (she actively watched wrestling growing up and made it her goal to be in the wwe), and clearly is working hard. This is similar to how Lash Legend was treated after her 1st match ever that was on developmental TV. I know the easiest route for wrestling fans is to be judgemental and a jerk, lord knows i have done it plenty, but treating someone so poorly to their face who is trying hard at a house show makes no sense to me.
If she’s too green for TV, take her off TV and put her on house shows. If she’s too green for house shows, take her off house shows and send her back to the Performance Center, which is literally supposed to be for the purpose of developing talent that isn’t ready to be in front of real fans yet. It’s such a weird discourse where now highly paid wrestlers are somehow “owed” appreciation from fans for doing the baseline minimum of their profession. People sure as hell didn’t treat Rocky Maivia with deference and respect in 1997 but he rolled with the abuse and made it into his character and GOT BETTER. So if fans booing is over the line for her, perhaps live entertainment isn’t the best profession to be in.
