Can we like…pretend…THIS was the true end of the nWo storyline???

Ric Flair beats the living shit out of Eric Bischoff and through a (actually satisfying) clusterfuck of run ins (WCW actually holds off the nWo) Flair of course makes Easy E tap the fuck out. The crowd goes BESERK. The announcers go beserk. It's actually announced out loud that “WCW has taken back control over the nWo”. Can we just say this is the end of the angle? Sure it SHOULD have been Sting absolutely beating Hogan into pulp, but that “didn't work for him brother” so this is an ACTUAL feel good moment we got. And it could have worked perfectly. The next week Flair declares ANY version of the nWo DEAD. Hogan and his goons can still feud with Nash and his goons but only it's just like “Team Hollywood” vs. “The Wolfpac” and that gets settled in a War Games and/or a Hogan/Nash one on one within a few months yeah?
I mean…it could work yeah?
Yeah but the problem is that Flair would want to immediately turn heel again and ruin whatever goodwill he built up.
