Natural teardrops ’92

One fine morning to you Scott! Long time reader, occasional commenter and first time question asker.
So, what was the deal with the Natural Disasters winning the WWF Tag Team titles in 1992 in one of many non-televised/Coliseum Video exclusive title changes that year? I read somewhere that was done because that was done to keep the titles off of Money Inc so they could still do the job at SummerSlam while keeping the titles away from the Legion of Doom or something like that. But looking through your Observer Flashbacks and even the WON issues from that timeframe I don't see anything that mentions that. Am I just believing too much of what I read on the internets?
Probably. In fact the original plan for Summerslam for a long time was the LOD facing Money Inc for the tag team titles. I don't know that there was ever any specific plan in mind with the Disasters as champions.
Also, was the side suplex finisher that Shawn Michaels used around that time before he adopted the Sweet Chin Music ever officially called the Teardrop Suplex? I don't ever recall hearing it called by that name, only in later video games (Not Super WrestleMania for Sega Genesis) and again on the Internet.
Yes it was definitely called the Teardrop suplex on TV at least once.
And finally, was Lighthouse ever legit huge in Canada or did they just benefit from CanCon?
They were very popular as I recall but also somewhat before my time.
