White Elephants in Wrestling

In modern usage, it is a metaphor used to describe an object, construction project, scheme, business venture, facility, etc. considered expensive but without equivalent utility or value relative to its capital (acquisition) and/or operational (maintenance) costs”
So with this Devil storyline being more concerned with the ROH Tag-titles than AEW World title for whatever ridiculous reason, ROH in my eyes has vaulted into the stratosphere of white elephants in wrestling. I was no ROH follower but I'm well aware of the plethora of retired and current talent they produced in their history. They deserve so much praise for their contribution to the current wrestling product. But holy hell do i want them as far from AEW as possible. I don't know exactly why TK has them latched on so hard to AEW but this is beyond the point of being interested in whatever storyline is going on.
With that being said, what are some of the biggest white elephants in the history of wrestling? Drawn out Big feuds that had no conclusion(as opposed to underwhelming endings)?. Storylines that just kept going until the writers/bookers just quietly shelved it. (The Authority comes to mind. I still can't find out if it actually ended). Gimmicks/Talents that were pounded into our heads for years until finally a change was made (Reigns post shield until Bloodline possibly?)

The Authority definitely did not have any conclusion. They all just disappeared from TV gradually. The Corporate Ministry is another one, complete with a giant mystery man angle and lame payoff for it, where it basically led to nothing and was completely reset by Summerslam 99.
