Dropping the GOON (and others)

Just thinking regards your recent Superstars review and your thoughts that they should have just let Bill Irwin be Bill Irwin instead of the GOON

If they’d done similar with the likes of Tony Anthony, Tracey Smothers, Tom Brandi etc, do you think the mid-card would have been considerably stronger?

I’ve always felt this era lacked depth roster wise, but maybe if they actually let the lower and mid-card guys do their usual gimmicks instead the silly ones they gave them, then I might not feel that way?

Oh yeah, that “name jobbers” experiment was complete garbage and just made it seem like a throwback to GLOW and that version of “characters”. You’re telling me TONY ANTHONY can’t get himself over without being a plumber? Come on. Obnoxious redneck always works.
