TK on the Carny Train.
By Scott Keith on 20th November 2023
With the announcement of the Continental Classic resulting in a belt, that combines ROH & NJPW belts, which means once it goes overseas to NJpw, it's no longer Continental. It just becomes Intercontinental. Which they have. And the reason that annoys me is the same reason i'm annoyed wondering what's the point of the TBS & TNT titles, when they are defended a lot outside the stations. The Intercontinental belt is just another belt between AEW talent. TK is now explaining things in what I call being “Carney”
Nothing against Carnivals or people who work at them, it's just the way the person sells it. In my wrestling Fandom there have been a number of decision makers who publicly explain their reasoning on certain booking, writing, etc. etc., and it's immediately thinking their audience are too stupid and/or lacks the attention span, to question their actions and ask them to present a rationale reasoning. And they think that their “dumb” audience will accept it and buy it all up, and when it doesn't work, they jus tmove onto another idea instead of learning from their actions.
Vince, Bruce Pritchard & Kevin Sullivan have been the absolute WORST at this. Hearing Sullivan explain anything Dungeon of Doom related that he felt the audience would just get into and accept is nauseating. The way Bruce shills gimmicks, storylines and booking decisions, anywhere from 10, 20, 30 years ago, is astounding! This guy still wonders why we didn't all grow up wanting to be like Duke The Dumpster Droese. And Vince is on a whole other level.
TK really should not be on social media, media scrums, really explaining anything. I don't need that at all for AEW to entertain. And I swear if the far-fetched idea that TK is involved in the Devil business, god help us. And now he's insulating my intelligence more and more in explanations. And the more PPVs, its just going to get ramped up. Someone needs to step up in that office.
