Obviously the WCW fan base essentially rejected Paul Roma as a Horsemen, but do you think this lineup could have worked?
Ric Flair as the Main Event singles guy
Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton as the tag team
Ole Anderson as the manager
Brad Armstrong as the mid-card singles guy
Armstrong and Roma were probably tied when it came to star power (with Roma possibly even having the edge there) but maybe the WCW fans would have bought into the idea that Brad was a respected in-ring wrestler who hadn’t got his due and The Horsemen had noticed that and were trying to bring him up to their level?
I think you could mostly have Ole manage just Brad, because he’d likely need it more, whilst the other three could fend for themselves better
Do you think that could have worked or would it suffer from the same issues of an historically lower card guy not fitting as part of what is supposed to be a top tier faction?
Sticking Arachnaman in there would have made it an even bigger joke. I like the direction with Bobby Eaton in there, but I think the ultimate answer should have been the Hollywood Blonds. Flair, Anderson, Austin and Pillman is a winner.
