Hogan/Warrior 90

There was a thead the other day about how Warrior should have gotten Earthquake after winning the title since he was the hottest heel. Here's my theory. Hogan was still, very much, considered their top guy but they wanted a 1A to go with Hogan's 1, and who
could take over when Hogan left. And to that degree they succeeded. For the rest of his career he was seen as about on the same level as Hogan.
No. Oh no no no no he wasn’t. Putting him over Hogan was a death sentence because the fans had to choose and viewed it as a “one or the other” choice. And they chose Hogan, and Warrior was immediately dead in the water. In retrospect they should have used a transitional guy like Randy Savage or Ted Dibiase to get the belt off Hogan because then the heel gets the heat for ending Hogans reign and Warrior looks like the hero. If they had done the Quake angle at the Rumble and had Hogan drop the belt as a result of his injuries, then that sets up Warrior to beat the heel at WM.
