Brock Lesnar ’02 as The Tribal Chief?

Your Unforgiven 2002 rant got me thinking – how would positioning Brock Lesnar in 02-04 the way Roman Reigns is now have worked?
In other words, instead of the ill-advised face turn vs. Big Show, Brock Lesnar just stays the indomitable heel, defeating Show, Angle, Austin, Goldberg, etc. until someone finally shows up who can defeat him – Eddie, Cena, Batista?
Or would that have been too jarring for a fanbase conditioned to 2 month title reigns?

Brock’s babyface turn basically killed his momentum and partially led to one of the worst WM buy rates ever so yeah, I’d have kept him heel and gone with Kurt Angle as a face instead.
