Hey, Scott:
One of your BOD colleagues shared an excerpt from the 1992 WON that reported on the Randy/Liz separation. Curious as to whether or not RSPW (or whatever passed for the internet wrestling community back then) had a collective reaction at the time? If not, then, how did that news hit you 30 years ago?
Follow up question: which pre-internet story/event would have most likely collapsed the universe if the IWC was around for it? Hogan losing the belt in 1988? Bruiser Brody’s murder? Something else?
RSPW was around in very primitive form back in 1989, back in the time of the internet with no pictures as my wife so mockingly calls it, so a lot of that stuff was almost covered, although the audience was already pretty hardcore Observer readers. The influx of dumbass university students and AOL trolls didn't come about until much later. So stuff like that was already known and accepted for what it was. I certainly don't recall a lot of specific discussion about Liz and Randy splitting up, for example.
