1.) For the obvious reasons, he's a self-sabotaging, thin-skinned, impetuous child?
2.) Because his entire character is an anti-authoritarian who addresses the elephants in the room in buzz-worthy ways and AEW has positioned itself as a “Face Brand” – compared to WWE, who for decades positioned management as the heels? Like, positioning Punk as “The Guy” in AEW is like Stone Cold being shoved into a John Cena, circa 2008 role. Punk worked so well in WWE because he spoke for a segment of disenchanted fans, but AEW likes to pretend its fans aren't disenchanted.
