Jericho the storyline thief?

Am I the only one who feels like Jericho is trying to copy the MJF/Cole dynamic of best friends who have tension between them but try to work it out? They're even going for tag gold together like MJF and Cole did. It feels a bit like discount MJF/Cole, but it doesn't really work for me because Sammy still isn't likable no matter how much AEW tries to make him a face again, and Jericho is only a babyface because Callis said no to him.
To be fair, Jericho did it first with Kevin Owens. And it’s hardly a fresh idea, as Bryan Danielson can attest to.
