After reading LScisco's great column on one of my personal childhood favorite Manias, two questions i got I never thought about till now:
1. Why wasn't LOD booked for this Mania?
2. I don't even remember the Luger interview! Did WWE solely use him for the WBF until that was done? I honestly remember and thought his first TV appearance to be the unveiling of The Narcissists at Rumble 93.

1. They originally were before all the stuff with the Money Inc title swap went down, in fact. But then Hawk got suspended for drugs and the LOD was just generally being hard to get along with and their return got delayed as a result. Basically, drugs.

2. Yeah they were only allowed to use him a bodybuilder because he was still under contract to WCW until 1993. Having him on TV as a WBF Superstar was a pretty risky end-run around a contract tampering lawsuit and I'm pretty sure no one but Vince McMahon would have been ballsy enough to even try it. But if they had ever said he was a wrestler or insinuated that he was signed to the WWF, Turner would have sued immediately. In retrospect, it only made him look like a lesser star in the long run and they shouldn't have bothered.
