I was watching the Warrior/Honky Summer Slam match, (always a fun watch,) and it got me thinking: I was nine when the match happened so I didn’t know anything, but did the “smart” crowd know that Warrior was gonna be the mystery opponent or were they as surprised as anyone else?
Warrior had been “winning” and defending the belt at TV tapings for something like a month beforehand so that his post-Summerslam squashes would line up. So no, there was no surprise for anyone with an Observer subscription.
