Last night's email about the sanctity of kayfabe had me thinking about how the world of wrestling is portrayed by the rest of the world of entertainment, and how it is sometimes displayed as the complete work it is, and other times as a legitimate sport. Family Matters. The Bushwhackers are clearly working with Carl and Steve, but then they SHOOT ON EM cause Carl's a cop.
The Munsters. Herman is a 7'0″ jobber because he keeps accepting sob stories from his opponents so he throws the matches.
Are You Being Served? (British sitcom 70's and 80's, for those unfamiliar). Mr. Humphries gets roped into fighting for the floor walker and finds out that it's all a show, right down to the other guy (doing heel stuff) telling him how to get the crowd fired up so they pop when he makes his comeback.
