Hi Scott,
In wrestling, shit goes pear shaped from time to time. We hear about Jim Ross and other commentators with their not so subtle digs such as “didn't get all of it”, “communication problems” or “bowling shoe ugly”. I've always liked when announcers think on their feet and try and cover for mistakes in a more 'positive' (?) way. Tony Schiavone with the Tank Abbot/Big Al “I think he was gonna cut his beard” was a pretty good cover, even if it didn't make any sense overall.
In your opinion, what are some of the better announcers/calls that have been quick thinking to cover for mistakes?
I dunno, I'm not really super-focused on that stuff like some people seem to be. Shit happens sometimes, why worry about it?
