Hi Scott, what are your thoughts on The Rock going late 90s WCW Hogan on the DCEU? Look, I really enjoyed Black Adam despite all the numerous, NUMEROUS flaws that it had. But the DCEU is a complete mess and I think they should have just flushed it and rebooted it completely rather than trying to piece-meal out the various dumpster fire projects that had previously been greenlit by Warner. Also I really dislike how the DC comics people took the simple story of Billy Batson saying a magic word and becoming a superhero, and turned it into a teen angst story with a million versions of the character in the FIRST MOVIE. I've never liked that “modern” interpretation of the character and it sucks that it was the one that finally got a movie made. That being said, if Dwayne wanted to be Black Adam so badly, then they should have just ditched all the “Shazam” lore associated with the character and went somewhere else with it. Marvel's done it a few times with their IP if there's a character with too much baggage. And Black Adam has a lot of baggage. And also he should have been a full on villain, which is the other problem. That all being said, the Rock is the best and I feel dirty even criticizing him so this is a painful topic for me.
