Flair/Tully/Arn in WWF

Hey Scott-

I am sure you spoke to this before.
After reading the maple leave show:
When coming in, everyone seemed to get the gimmick/animal treatment walking in to WWF, especially leaving NWA. Why do you think those 3 were essentially able to roll in being the same?
Flair obviously may be a different circumstance but Arn and Tully weren’t exactly the road warriors in terms of body type. And yes they were very accomplished.
But so was “Hoss” Funk and Handsome Harley Race.
Soooooo. What’s up w that?

JJ Dillon was in talent relations when Flair jumped so that one is pretty straightforward. I think he helped broker the deal for Tully and Arn as well even though he wasn’t with the WWF until 89. I know that there was serious talk in 88 of Flair and JJ joining Tully and Arn because of the friction with Dusty. That would have been something.
