Do you think an evil clown gimmick just like the original Doink would work today in WWE or AEW?
Sting was always the first choice to be the third man until Hogan realized the money train was leaving without him. Even if Hogan backed out, Sting would have in the backup plan. Why wasn't Savage ever an option? Even Scott Hall said it wouldn't have worked with Sting… It needed to be a WWF guy. Wouldn't Savage be the next best thing after Hogan?

2. Yeah but the whole buildup of the match was Savage getting beat up by the outsiders over and over, so I don't think that would make much sense either. I think the Bulldog idea floated by many actually would have had some merit, or Curt Hennig if he had his life together and was interested in dropping the insurance policy at that point, but otherwise Hulk was the one who hadn't been heel in 15 years and had the biggest impact.
