1.) Is Mick Foley the most underrated “star maker” of all time? Think of the guys he got to the next level – The Rock, Triple H, Randy Orton, Edge, heck, arguably even HBK and Sting. What made Foley so good at this?
2.) It's not exactly a hot take to say that MJF is being exposed as being not quite there yet as the main star. Some would be far harsher. So who is his Mick Foley? It could be Bryan Danielson, but how much better would that have worked if BD spent the past year being the happy “Yes” BD circa WM30, who had to become the cold-blooded killer he was of old (ala Mankind to Cactus) in order to defeat MJF? Right now, he really has nowhere to go as a character – he already is a badass. I know, I know, hindsight = 20/20, but still.
1. I have heard from reliable sources that no one ever put HHH over and made him a star, but Foley did an amazing job with Randy Orton in particular in 2004. I mean, is there really any more explanation needed other than “Mick Foley is a great pro wrestler”?
2. I feel like it might end up being Kenny Omega who puts him over the top by letting him do the thing that I don't want to say out loud because I'd rather it be anyone else. That's right: They're going to do a JAZZ ROUTINE together.
