Mr. Hughes: Monster to Gone

Hey Scott,
Just watching a Mr. Hughes in WWF '93 and it got me thinking: What happened there? One month he goes from being Undertaker's unstoppable monster of the week to just being … gone.
This wasn't a Lars Sullivan situation where they found out some crazy Nazi stuff about him (I don't think). He just came in around 4/93, manhandled the Undertaker and started the “Steal the Urn” storyline, was heavily protected, and then was gone around August. They didn't even have him finish his feud with UT. Why didn't they at least have the match to let UT get his Urn and then send him packing?
He wasn't a Nazi by any means but he had some stuff going on and got fired pretty abruptly. Stories vary but I've heard everything from him stiffing guys in the ring, to him suffering an eye injury from breaking his glasses, to him making very unwanted advances on Sherri in the dressing room.
