I heard JR mention on his podcast recently that the Barry Windham (get well soon!) iteration of the Four Horsemen was his favorite. This is not an uncommon opinion. It's the best collection of talent and the version inducted into in the HoF.
But what about Ole? I know he was a miserable s.o.b. and everyone hates him, but he was always pretty essential for me. The original horsemen were by far the meanest and the nastiest. If Ole isn't there rocking his “damn I am good” t-shirt, it kind of feels like it doesn't count. What say you and the blog? Am I alone on Ole Island?
Yeah. For me, Ole never fit the Horsemen lifestyle and image they were trying to portray. He was effective as an asskicker but seemed like he was from the wrong era. Luger and Windham both had the air of a young star who could also hang with Flair.
