One big deal Survivor Series match since the InVasion

20th November 2022 by Scott Keith

What I love about the Wargames event this year is that it is build up like a big deal, with the number one stable in pro wrestling, including the world champ, being in it against a team that includes the number one babyface of the WWE (Drew McIntyre).

That makes me wonder what is the most significant, important or «big feel» traditional Survivor Series elimination match to have happened since the InVasion in 2001.

Would you go with Team Cena vs Team Authority in 2014? Team D-X vs Team Rated RKO in 2006? Maybe one of those countless Team Smackdown vs Team Raw (the one in 2005, featuring Batista and HBK seemed like a big deal at the time). Team Orton vs Team Triple H in 2004 (altough the mere presence of Maven hurts it).

And of course, who could forget the Total Divas vs True Divas mega event of 2013!

I’m probably forgetting a couple of big ones (something with The Shield, maybe?). So, what is the most important or best Survivor Series elimination match in the last 20 years?

The one where Dolph Ziggler won for WWE and Sting showed up. That one was HUGE and felt like a big deal and also was the first one where it felt like they wasted an opportunity by not having the shows on PPV anymore.
