Look, I get it. AEW has it's issues right now and are being legitimately criticized for them. But a lot of people like to look back at the Attitude Era as the good old days of wrestling. While that era gave us a lot of great things, never forget that it also gave us octogenarians giving birth to hands, “choppy choppy your pee pee”, HHH necrophilia and maybe worst of all, the Mean Street Posse. So sit back and appreciate that AEW at least gives us actual in-ring wresting to bitch about.
Yeah but the Attitude Era shows drew some of the highest ratings in the history of wrestling and sold tickets like crazy. The issue isn't some picky neckbeard AEW fans nitpicking problems, it's also rapidly declining attendance figures due to oversaturating the same markets over and over, as well as shows like Rampage dropping significant numbers year over year. Clearly they are doing SOMETHING and it's not connecting with their audience and the solution isn't putting their fingers in their ears and going “la la la can't hear you!”. Like I rag on the ROH purchase and overemphasis all the time, but there's a pretty clear correlation between when they started introducing all those titles on TV and when ratings and fan interest started to drop.
