Jake The Snake/Sting Feud

When Jake debuted in August of '92 and attacked Sting, was the plan always to blow it off with 1 PPV match and Sting going over at Havoc, or was that done because Watts & Jake just didn't get along and Jake was in a bad way at the time? Was the Coal Miner's
Glove Match idea, Watts way of burying Jake or did he think it was a good idea and it would get over?
The idea was to go longer but Jake destroyed his own career as usual. Watts didn’t even want Jake and actually had tried to fire him before he even made it to TV, though.
