When change is good

To take a step away from the Punk/Elite/AEW story, I have a pretty basic question for you that might make for a good discussion. What's an example, for you, of somebody who did something to change their appearance (without outright changing their gimmick), and immediately seeming like a bigger star because of it?
For me, the most prevalent examples would be Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley cutting his hair and growing out his beard (compared to his shaggy haired, clean shaven Dean Ambrose look) and Cody Rhodes dying his hair blonde.
You have to think that Steve Austin shaving his head and growing a goatee has gotta be right up here.
