Guys Who Were Meltzer’s Contacts (Benoit/Eddie/Flair?)

I was talking to an old-school wrestling fan, and he suggested to me that not only was Flair an old contact of Meltzer, giving him info (a lot of fans have suspected as much given how biased Meltz was towards him, and how much he hated Dusty by contrast), but
Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and a few others were as well. He says that this was considered an open secret back in the '90s, but this was the first I was hearing about it. I wasn't into the online fandom back then so I dunno- what do you think? Was it “open
knowledge” that these guys were calling Meltzer with info?
