Survivor Series 91: Opening SS match, sole survivor but due to lamest of lame endings. Does interfere in main event and costs Hogan title however.
RR92: Nuff said
WM8: Loses title, and its Not in the main event against Hogan. (even though Savage is the man, no disrespect)
Summerslam 92: Not booked to wrestle, but interferes in the world title match.
Wins title back in Sept. on Primetime wrestling
Loses title to Bret on House show in 92 (also nuff said on this story)
SS92: In tag-team match that ends in DQ (and i feel they didn't capitalize on Ramone afterwards with this match, but that's another day)
RR93: Gets his longevity record broken already by Bob Backlund of all people
Raw after Rumble: loses to Perfect to leave company.
Now with that said, what was Flairs expectation coming in? And did he have a pretty happy attitude/company man throughout his run? Looking back I just see some events where a pro like him would want to perform (Wembley stadium, a more standout match at his first survivor series/ppv) and for the ppv payout. Was he on the same page as the company with going from Hogan to Savage for WM 8? Was a Pipe/Flair PPV match ever strongly considered?
I think it came too late for Flair and he was mostly using Vince to spite Jim Herd. If it had happened in 88 like originally thought, he’d have the Horsemen and could feud with prime Savage and Hogan. By 91 it was more like “Well we can’t say no to Flair” but really there was no great long term strategy for him.
