Caesars Palace

So the rebooking of Wrestlemania 9 has become a running joke around here. I personally always find the show dull but the optics fascinating as it was ushering in a new era in a way (Bret as champ, Razor, Steiners, Doink, Yoko, Luger, even debuting JR on commentary) but as we all know Hulk kind of ruins that in the last two minutes. In the comments on a question about Warrior getting fired just the other day someone said that Caesars Palace was actually responsible for Hogan even being on the show because they saw the Rumble with no Hulk and flipped out. I had never heard this before and went on a search through the inter webs and can’t seem to find anything confirming or denying this. Is this common wrestling knowledge or is this another folk tale or hearsay story that we will never know for sure? If it is even partially accurate at least it does give some explanation to why Hulk was so quickly hamfisted into the show to begin with.
Pretty sure we covered it in the Observer Flashback at the time but it’s been a minute so I forget the details. But that sounds right to me as well.
