Dream Matches That Weren’t

By Scott Keith on 13 August 2022

Is there any logical reason why WWE decided to go with Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt and HHH vs. Sting at WrestleMania 31 instead of just running one of the most talked about dream matches in history?

The matches we did get wound up being mostly forgettable, especially with HHH because he was back out there an hour later doing the segment with The Rock and Ronda Rousey.

Is there more to how it all went down that way or is it just “because Vince”? If Sting was being punished for having the audacity to be a WCW guy, couldn’t he have just as easily laid down for Taker instead of HHH?

P.S. Are there any dream matches that you would have liked to have seen and can’t figure out how / why they didn’t happen?

Everything at that show points to “Because Vince”.

And I know I say this a lot, but WCW failing to ever run Luger & Sting v. The Megapowers was a goddamn travesty. They had a million chances to do so.
