Hi Scott, hope you are well.
So assuming Nick Khan finds a way around the “Vince owns the majority of the stock” thing and is able to sell to NBC or Disney (like you, I believe it will happen), how reminiscent of WCW being owned by TBS, and all the crap that came with that, do you think will future WWE be?
Of course we wrestling fans certainly know the story of WCW's many, many misadventures under a huge corporation's guiding hand, but I get the feeling that not too many executives at NBC or Disney are aware of that comically bad history. Will we have a new wrestling version of “Those Who Don't Learn From History Are Doomed…”, or can something a little better come out of such a marriage? Thoughts?
I think NBCU would feel that WWE has been a self-sustaining money generator for decades now and they would probably just let it make money and provide content. This isn't WCW losing 50 million dollars per year, this is WWE with all the leverage and assorted companies desperate for content to fill out their streaming services.
