Hi Scott, during the “TV, instead of Wrestling” thread yesterday, there was an interesting chat some of us had about the MCU’s current state. One commenter said the MCU post-endgame reminded him of the Arrowverse post-crisis, where’s there’s sort of a “What now?” vibe after reaching the top of the mountain. So my question is, if Marvel had all of their characters, how would you have rebooked the MCU? I will contend to my dying day that Marvel should’ve overpaid to get the X-Men and Fantastic 4 from Fox, and Spider-Man from Sony. (Now, I understand that getting Spidey probably would’ve been really tough given the numbers he was drawing, but you probably could’ve talked them into it after Spider-Man 3.) I would’ve made Galactus the Big Bad, then we make the transition into Thanos.
Galactus would have been the perfect Big Bad for Phase 4 instead of multiverses and assorted gods. Now we got Egyptian gods and Norse gods and Celestials. Earth getting threatened by a big alien who eats planets is a much easier sell.
