Alternative To The Slaughter

Hello Scott!
If Vince had gone a different way with Sgt. Slaughter
on his comeback in 1990, could it have worked? Specifically, instead of invoking
Saddam Hussein, what if they had referenced Sarge’s contract with GI Joe and him
turn heel on the Joes and side with Cobra Commander instead? I assume it would
have involved Hogan getting his own GI Joe and I know Hulk wouldn’t have turned
down that sort of merch money, brother. I don’t know who was making the WWF
action figures back then and if it wasn’t Hasbro, they might have objected to
Vince running an angle with a competing toy company. Any ideas on who they might
have brought in to play Cobra Commander and/or Destro?
