With all the complaints about the influx of ROH, Japan, and other indie wrestlers entering AEW acting like we're supposed to automatically know them, I always though that one of the best things WCW did when they wanted to get their various cruiserweights/luchadores over was have Mike Tenay give a 30 second biography of the wrestler in a match while the other commentators kept quiet while he did it. I think this went a long way (along with great matches) to get unknown wrestlers over with the tv audience. Other than the occasional quickly tossed out comment by Excaliber, AEW doesn't really do this. Don't you think having a Mike Tenay kind of person somewhere on the show be beneficial?
Sure would be. I for one would have appreciated some context on who Rush is after he was introduced on Double or Nothing and then not mentioned again for the next two weeks. Just to give one example.
