PPV Buildups

Everytime an AEW or WWE PPV is about to happen you always seem to post an e-mail from someone complaining about the lack of buildup to that PPV. So my question is what was your favorite buildup to a PPV ever even if the PPV itself ended up sucking? The one where the majority of the card was interesting to you, not just the main event and maybe a midcard match of some kind.

I'd say Money in the Bank 2011 but that was mostly the main event. I'm gonna go old school and say Starrcade 88, even though I couldn't actually watch that show on PPV. I was intrigued by pretty much everything on the show.
