Hey Scott, I haven't watched wrestling for years but been catching up on old episodes of JR's podcast. They're just covering Austin's interview on Halftime Heat from 2000. JR says that the interview was difficult because Austin wasn't excited by the 'being run down by a car' angle – nor was he excited about the prospect of working with Rikishi when he was due to return.
Even though Rikishi was over (to some extent) in early 2000, any idea if they actually had it planned for him to be the driver that far out, or if they made the decision later in the year? The way the story played out didn't really make it seem like there were any long-term plans for RIkishi to be the driver.

There weren’t. HHH was always supposed to be the guy behind it.
